Project Overview

EKUBHUB is a mobile-first platform that brings the traditional Ethiopian Ekub, a rotating savings group, online. Anyone can create an Ekub with their own rules, such as contribution amount, frequency, number of members and payout method, or discover and join an open group. The platform schedules contributions, collects payments digitally, runs the payout rotation or draw, and sends reminders automatically. Every contribution and payout is recorded, so members and organizers get a transparent history and fewer disputes than with paper ledgers and cash.
